The website and apps require multiple systems across wider BBC, and our BAs are crucial in understanding the impact of decisions across multiple systems, and helping us reach our goals. Use analytics to uncover and investigate user behaviour to establish insight into product performance and to use this data to drive ideas, features and product improvements.Applicants should have experience of helping answer developer questions and writing well formed tickets with clear acceptance criteria.Candidates should be able to act as a product owner when required.Candidates should understand data analysis, mechanisms and techniques to surface insights, trends and data driven decision making from our technical data.
The ideal applicant is a clear and rigorous thinker, who is confident chasing down the details of how systems currently work from a range of stakeholders across the business.Applicants should be able to identify and validate user acceptance criteria, working from business requirements, solution design and test strategy, to collaborate with the wider development and test teams and agree the final acceptance criteria.Candidates should have an appreciation of journalism, particularly around structured storytelling and balancing audience needs and journalist needs. Experience working in an editorial environment, particularly large Newsrooms, is a plus.This role will focus on the development of new Article pages across Web and Apps, with a view to serving the needs of multiple editorial teams across the BBC, including BBC News, World Service, Sport, and Three.Applicants should have experience working with systems that scale to millions of users and where there’s a lot of complexity and inter-dependence. All of our systems are used at large scale, whether that’s by hundreds of journalists around the country and the world or millions of users. Business Analysts in the BBC work across a range of products for users, journalists and BBC developers.
